This story began at Maximus Air Cargo based in Abu Dhabi in the UAE. Maximus had already signed a cooperation agreement in January 2008 to become the UAE Red Crescent Authority's (RCA) exclusive partner for all its air relief support requirements. Offering these services "at cost" proved valuable both in terms of business and contribution and commitment to charity work. It also provoked thought. Did you know that according to IATA figures:

• Only 70% of the maximum loading capacity is utilised across the world
• There are more than 4 million tonnes of empty space every week in more than 3,400 airports across 220 countries
• If we managed to fill 0.0003% of these empty spaces, we would be able to feed approximately 5 million people
